We both grew up with extended families who celebrated the holiday around a table filled with delicious homemade dishes, including a giant turkey.
With Thanksgiving coming it was weighing heavily on us that there are so many people in our community who can’t afford to put a regular meal on their table, let alone a Thanksgiving turkey. So, we popped in to visit with Mark, the manager of the Walmart at Dale Mabry & 275 and bought 271 lbs of Thanksgiving turkeys to donate to Feeding Tampa Bay, part of Feeding America, with the help of our #bNice partner Stepp’s Towing.
Feeding Tampa Bay’s mission is to provide food to the more than 700,000 hungry in the 10-county area of West Central Florida. Megan Carlson, who’s their Volunteer Services Manager, told us that translates into 226 meals for people here in our community.
Watch how the visit went below. And, if you’d like to make a difference by helping provide meals for those in need in Tampa Bay or know of something who is in need, visit Feeding Tampa Bay.
And if you know of someone who is making a difference in our community or have a positive story to tell everyone about, share it on social media & tag it #bNice.
